Treasurers Report: Prepared by Junie Obi, Treasurer.
Temple Board Meeting:
- Arlene Yokoyama stated
that on March 31st, the Onizuka Memorial Service will be held at Nishi
at 3pm
- On April 1st, Little
Tokyo clean-up is scheduled to start at 9am at Higashi
- Nishi Hanamatsuri occurs
on April 2nd.

Girl Scout Sunday
was on 3/12/06. Senior III Girl Scouts chaired service at Nishi. If Girl
Scouts attended another church service, provide this information to
Norene Yasukochi.

Camping II training
was held at Higashi on 3/11-3/12/06 for leaders who were trained by Ted
Oyama.

Thank you to
parents, especially Brownie parents for helping with the cookie
distribution. Thank you for your patience waiting for late cookie
delivery.

Girl Scout open
house will occur 4/21 sponsored by Seniors, Level I. Free pizza night
(10 pizzas received for TOS); TOS badges- council has been contacted
again regarding the missing badges.

Children's Day is
on May 6th and 7th and will be celebrated with Koyasan at the Cultural
Center. Leaders should ask Ted Oyama for more information.
Group Reports:
- Brownies: Reported by
Isabelle Sato. The Cadettes helped the Brownies to write “Thank You” cards for their Girl Scout cookie sales. They watched “Madagascar” at Higashi during the Yakisoba preparation night. The Brownies are currently working on their Girl Sports Try-It. Kevin Furukawa showed them how to make sumo wrestlers out of cardstock, and they had sumo wrestling contests against each other. Rie
F. supervised the girls in doing aerobic workouts last week. Need Brownie parents to meet after this meeting in regards to the camping program.
- Juniors: Reported by
Lynn Taketomo: The Juniors (and Brownies) had Movie Night at Higashi on
March 3rd. All of the Juniors are working on the Field Sports badge. So
far, the girls have done the following: (1) learned how to warm up
before playing a sport, (2) learned about the equipment needed to play
softball, and (3) practiced six different fundamentals of softball. The
Juniors also went to the El Dorado Nature Center where they took a
nature hike, explored, and observed wildlife. Tonight, the girls are
working with the Senior 1s on the Dance badge. The Juniors will round
out this month by completing the requirements for the Field Sports badge
next Friday. An April 15th outing is scheduled.
- Cadette 1 and 2:
Reported by Rose Kamiya. Cadettes I & II have completed the Conflic
Resolution Interest Badge. They will finish the Real Deal Studio 2B Pin
by March 31, 2006. The girls participated in the Yakisoba prep night.
- Cadette 3: Reported by Lynette Hamada.

- Seniors I:
Reported by Stacey Tanaka. The girls finished making flower pens and
decorating pots for the Mother’s Day centerpieces. They will start the
pre-sale sometime in April. The centerpieces will be $7.00 each. On
Saturday, March 18th, the girls met with Emily Ito, jewelry designer at
Lightwaves, at her warehouse office in San Gabriel. She showed them
different types of materials (copper, silver, gold) used to create her
charms and bracelets. She then created a charm showing them all the
steps and the equipment needed to make a charm. Tonight, the girls are
working with the Juniors on three of their Dance Interest patch
requirements. The girls will teach them how to dance: country/western
dancing, ballroom dancing, and the salsa. Senior 1s and Cadette 3s are
in charge of the Girl Scout Open House which occurs on Friday, April
21st this year. Flyers have been posted around the hallways, in the Girl
Scout glass case, and given to Nishi and Higashi kindergarteners.

- Cookie Sale (Eileen Yoshimura):
4,530 boxes of cookies sold which represents $18,120 worth of sales.
From these sales, the troop will receive $3,400.
- Yakisoba
(Ken Anami): Received money for Yakisoba tickets from all families,
except one.
