Approval of the minutes
Motion was made for approval.

General Board Meeting:

• No report this month.

Affiliates Meeting:

• Temple organizations are invited to a June 10th Recognition dinner at the JACCC for Noritoshi Kawai, President of Mutual Trading Company. $1,500 per table.

Leaders:

• No neighborhood meeting this month.

Group Reports:

• Brownies:
  • Girls are working on their final Try-it for this year; “Computer Smarts”. Thanks to I. Sato for instruction and use of her laptop.
  • Girls made computer generated Mothers day cards. Thanks to R. Alexander who gave the girls a “hands on” course in computer power sources by arming them with screwdrivers and teaching them how to open the casing to view the unit.
  • Zoo Trip originally scheduled for April 25th was postponed.
  • May 23rd all nine girls and their families will be going to Disneyland.
• Juniors:
  • Juniors finished work on the centerpieces for Court of Awards. Junior girls received their Bronze Award Pins at the bake sale fundraiser May 16th – Bake Sale revenues to be used to help defray the cost of the Bronze Award Project.
  • May 15th Girls went horseback riding in Griffith Park
  • In June the bridging girls plan on going to San Francisco and crossing the Golden Gate Bridge as part of a ceremony sponsored by the San Francisco Girl Scout Council.
  • Girls will also go to So Pasadena High to work on the “Cooking Fun” Badge.
  • Bridging Junior girls will also attend the play “Annie” as part of the “Theater” Badge.
• Cadette 1 and 2:
  • Cadette I’s are working on the Court of Awards Booklet and will be incorporating information provided by the Senior II & III girls.
  • Cadette II’s are completing their write-ups for the two interest patches required for the Silver Award: “Cadette Challenge” and “From Dreams to Reality”. May 14th - Self Defense Class with the Sr II girls thanks to N. Yasukochi for coordinating.
  • May 21 – Working with the Juniors on a skit for the Court of Awards.
  • May 22nd – Sea World Sleepover in the Wild Arctic Exhibit.
  • May 28th – Cadette I’s to meet at L. Hamada’s home for meeting, no meeting for Cadette II’s.
• Cadette 3:
  • May 11th - Jamie H., Kathryn H. Michelle K., and Karen W. received their Silver Award! Congratulations to the girls and to their parents for making it happen.
  • May 14th – Cadette III’s helped supervise the Cubbies during their parent meeting by referee’ing a basketball game encouraging and teaching team participation to the Cubbies.
  • May 21st – girls are planning their presentations (display board with pictures and a summary of their project) for the Court of Awards.
  • Girls will not be meeting on Friday, May 28.
• Seniors:
  • Girls made Mother’s day Centerpieces for the Nishi Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast – proceeds from the sale of the centerpieces will be used for a group outing.
  • May 14th – Self Defense Class with the Cadettes – Thanks to Ms. Yasukochi for coordinating.
