Treasurers Report: No Treasurer’s Report.
General Board Meeting:
- The Temple will be
closed on Sunday, December 26th.
- On November 13th at 9:00
am the church will be disposing old equipment with a red tape on it. If
you want it, its yours but after November 13th, its gone!
- Eitaikyo Service will be
on Sunday, November 21st. Also on November 21st there is a general
membership meeting at 3:00 pm.
- Annual Temple Clean-Up
on Sunday, December 5th at 8:00 am. Everyone is requested/required to
attend.
- Year End Services on
Sunday, December 31st.
- New Years Service on
January 1st. Temple will be closed on January 2nd.

- Brownies:
- Reported by Emi Morimoto. We have two
new Brownies bringing the total to 12 girls. Jessica N. and Mariko R.
- The girls are in the process of
completing their first Try-It, “Wave the Flag”. Thank you to Cindy
Yaguchi who helped them make Patriotic Wind socks and to Walt and Cheryl
who helped them make personal banners using icons.
- Tonight the Cadettes are teaching the
Brownies about flag etiquette and how to fold the flag.
- Our next Try-It will be “Penny Power”
which begin in November.
- On November 5th, the new Brownies will
participate in the Investiture Ceremony which will be held downstairs in
the Kindergarten room.
- Juniors:
- Reported by Rose Kamiya. Juniors 1, 2
and 3 have completed the “Sign of the World”. They have also earned the
following badges, “Lead On” and “Toymaker”.
- We are now working on the “Ceramics”
badge.
- The girls are going to sponsor a toy
recycling drive for a homeless shelter either in downtown or in
Glendale.
- Cadette 1 and 2:
- Reported by Lynnette Hamada. Oct. 1st
the girls discussed requirements for Interest Patches
- Review of the Catalina Core Camp and
Welcome Back Party
- Worked with photos from Catalina and
made scrapbook pages for individual notebooks.
- Oct. 8th the girls completed the
requirements for Interest Patches “Paddle, Pole and Roll”
- Shared information with Juniors
regarding use of Personal Flotation Devices (life jackets) and Catalina
Core Camping.
- Oct. 22nd parent meeting and the girls
are working with the Brownies, providing instruction, regarding the
American flag.
- Oct. 29th Halloween party; meet early to
set up the pumpkin patch. Thank you to Norene Yasukochi for donating the
pumpkins.
- There is a Silver Award seminar for
Cadettes I on Nov. 4th at 6:30 pm. in Torrance.
- Cadette 3:
- Reported by Stacy Tanaka. Finishing up
on the last interest patch relating to the silver project and write up
on their leadership award.
- Two girls started on their silver
project and will have a fundraiser booth at Cultural Impressions Craft
Faire at the Langley Center on Nov. 6th.
- Seniors 1:
- Seniors2:
- Reported by Norene Yasukochi. The girls
are working on their leadership hours helping with the cub scouts and
junior meetings.
- They attended UCLA workshop, toured the
campus, had lunch in the residence hall.
- In December the girls will be helping
Mrs. Kawaguchi collect donated bingo prizes for the Keiro Christmas
Bingo Party on December 11th in Boyle Heights. Collection dates are:
Nov. 19th, Dec. 3rd and Dec. 10th.

Old Business
- Nut and Magazines: Reported by
Doris Ming. Pick up nuts on Sun. Oct. 31st from 10:30 am to 1:00 p.m.
Money is due on Nov. 12th. Meeting with Junior parents tonight after
general meeting.
- Halloween Party: Reported by
Yuenny Hamaguchi. Cub Scouts needs Girl Scout parents to help out with
the booth rotation. We are in charge of refreshments and the sign up
sheet is being passed around. The kaikan kitchen will not be available
because the Boy Scouts are making manju. Senior I and II will be having
a balloon booth.
- T-Shirts/Sweatshirts: sign up
sheets for t-shirts and sweatshirts. $8.00 for the t-shirts; $27.00
pull-over sweatshirt and $24.00 for the zipper sweatshirt. The Troop
will pay $10.00 toward a sweatshirt.
