Wanjettes Tournament Rules

1. All games will consist of two (2) twenty-minute halves. The last two minutes of the second half will be full stopped time, unless the point spread is over fifteen points.

2. In the event of a tie, there will be an overtime period of two minutes. If the score is still tied, the second overtime will be sudden death.

3. Each team will receive three time-outs per game. An extra time-out will be given in each overtime period. All time-outs carryover.

4. Backcourt will be in effect in all divisions. You must cross the line in 10 seconds.

5. A 30-second shot clock will be available upon request for Upper Midget and above. If the 30-second shot clock is requested, the (10-second) backcourt rule will no longer apply.

6. Three point shots will only be allowed in those gyms that are properly marked with a permanent line.

7. Bonus free throws will be shot on the seventh team foul. Double bonus will be shot on the tenth team foul. Technical fouls will be counted as a personal foul and a team foul.

8. There will be a ten-minute grace period for each game. Any team not ready to play after the scheduled time will forfeit that game.

9. No jewelry will be worn during any game.

10. No unsportsmanlike conduct will be accepted from any player, coach or spectator. This includes abuse towards scorekeepers, referees and tournament officials. Any infraction could constitute a game forfeiture, removal from the tournament and/or suspension from future tournaments. All incidents will be reported to JAO and SEYO for their consideration.

11. All teams must wear uniforms of similar color. Uniforms must have permanent numbers on the front and back. No tape will be allowed. Each violation will result in a technical foul.>

Midget Division Exceptions:

1. There will be no backcourt press in the Midget Division. The only exception is in the Upper Midget Division.

2. The offensive team must cross half court in ten seconds. The defensive team must give the offensive team a reasonable space to cross half court. If this is not given, a warning from the referee will be given. A second violation will result in a technical foul.

3. The Lower and Upper Lower Midget Divisions will play with the smaller ball as specified by the JAO rules.

4. In the Lower and Upper Lower Midget Divisions, free throws will be shot from the bottom dotted circle. Free throw shooters may not cross the dotted line.

5. In the Lower Middle and Middle Midget Division, free throws will be shot from the regular free throw line. Shooter may cross the free throw line only after the ball is in flight as a follow through action. If in the opinion of the referee, the shooter gains an unfair advantage for a rebound, a violation will be called.

6. In the Upper Midget Division, free throws will be shot from the regular free throw line. The shooter may not cross the free throw line until the shot hits the rim.
